Ranger School Requirements
The United States Army Rangers are the U.S. Army's premier light infantry force, known for their rigorous training and elite status. To become a Ranger, candidates must meet certain requirements and undergo a challenging selection process.
ASVAB Placement Test
One of the initial requirements for becoming a Ranger is a qualifying score on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) placement test. Candidates must achieve a minimum score in the technical aptitude area (TECH) to be eligible for Ranger training.
Ranger School
To become Ranger qualified, all service members must complete the U.S. Army Ranger School, a grueling 62-day course that tests their physical, mental, and leadership abilities. The school is open to all service members, regardless of branch or rank.
75th Ranger Regiment
All sergeants and above in the 75th Ranger Regiment must be Ranger qualified, indicating that they have successfully completed Ranger School.
Best Ranger Competition
The annual Best Ranger Competition is a two-day event that challenges the top Ranger teams from across the Army. The competition includes various physical and mental tests that showcase the Rangers' skills and abilities.
