Hamas Israel Swap Second Group Of Hostages

Hamas, Israel Swap Second Group of Hostages

Dispute Delays Planned Exchange

Prisoners Released in West Bank

During the Israel-Hamas war, several exchanges were made between the two sides involving militant-held hostages. Hamas freed a second group of hostages on Saturday night in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners by Israel.

The swap came after a dispute over the planned exchange of Palestinian prisoners for Israeli hostages. Hamas had claimed that Israel failed to release all the prisoners it had agreed to, which Israel denied.

For a third day, Hamas released hostages, and Israel released Palestinian prisoners. Israel is now set to release another 39 Palestinian women and teenagers who are being held prisoner in the West Bank.

The Israel-Hamas deal, agreed on Wednesday, calls for the freeing of 50 hostages held in Gaza in exchange for the release of 1,000 Palestinian prisoners, including 27 women and 12 under the age of 18.
